A scoop into the project idea

Why Grabby?

Grabby stemmed from the need of diverse SME needing a platform to showcase their wares and bring them one step closer to their customers. Think of a platform that can be used by a Pharmacy, Restaurant, Super-market, Boutique, Shawarma/Suya eat-out, Spa etc to display their products as well as manage their daily business activities stemming from the application. Considering that we live in a mobile world where customers like to shop online and sometimes instore, Grabby intends to make it possible to attend to these two types of shoppers without altering the customer purchase experience. In addition to that, the super user i.e the Grabby admin will also have a dedicated web application to keep track of users, SMEs as well as income.

The three phases of Grabby

  1. Dedicated mobile application for shoppers

  2. Admin dashboard screens

  3. Dedicated mobile application for SMEs to keep track of their wares and finances (COMING SOON)

Empathy

Empathy

An attempt at understanding and empathizing with the end-users or target audience is paramount so as to avoid any personal bias, as well ensuring a product users need is being built. The goal here is to develop a deep understanding of the people for whom the design is intended.

We want to answer the following questions

  • Who are my users?

  • What are their needs?

  • What are their goals?

  • What are their pain points?

  • What are their expectations?

Competitive Audit

In order for me understand the competitors (direct and indirect), i carried out a SWOT analysis to ascertain areas of improvement and strength existing in the current available E-commerce platforms out there.

3 competitors (one direct competitor and two indirect competitors) which are Jumia, Alibaba and Amazon were chosen. Click on the link below to access the competitive audit. Click on the link below to access them

Define

Define the problem

Here, i narrowed down the scope of the project and establish design criteria and goals so i don't design out of scope

Ideation stage

Ideation

In this stage, i generated a wide range of ideas to solve the defined problem. i made use of techniques such as big picture and up-close story boarding

understanding the big picture is essential. This involves grasping the overall scope of the project, the target audience, business goals, and the context in which the design will be used. The big picture helped me gain a comprehensive view of the problem i am trying to solve and the opportunities available for creating a successful design solution. It sets the foundation for the design process and helps ensure that the design aligns with the project's objectives

This allows me to explore and visualize the sequence of events, interactions, or user journeys at a detailed level. It helps break down the big picture into smaller, manageable components. By creating up-close storyboards, i was able to map out the flow and interactions within the design, identify potential issues, and refine the user experience before moving on to the prototyping and testing phases.

Testing

Testing

The MVP was evaluated and tested with actual users. Feedback from testing showed me areas for improvement, Iterative testing and refinement was done to enhance the design based on the feedback received.

Admin dashboards

Grabby for the Super user

These are a few screens that enables the admins of Grabby to keep track of their users, ROI, turnover as well as other vital metrics
